Back to Section 1This course has introduced me to the prompt of the internet, communication tools, and web development essentials.
Module 4: HTML and CSS were my favorite topics in the course, as I am always keen on understanding how websites are structured and styled. I was gratified to be able to write simple web pages using HTML tags and CSS styling. This provided me with a tangible ability—something I could create that would appear on the web and function (albeit simply).
I also became more confident in writing clean and efficient code after learning how to validate HTML files and publish them. This skill has helped me feel more prepared as a beginner web developer.
My least favorite topic was QR Codes, NFC, and Snap Tags in Module 3. While I understand their importance, I struggled to relate them to my current goals. These topics felt less relevant as I focused on building and expanding my web design skills.
I started implementing knowledge from this course right away. I have already created a few personal web pages using HTML and CSS fundamentals. This has been excellent practice for coding, testing design elements, and understanding how to lay out content effectively on a web page.
These skills will be valuable personally and professionally. For example, I could build a website or an online portfolio to showcase my work and abilities to future employers. Additionally, basic knowledge of internet usage and tools provided in Module 1 and Module 2 will help me manage online resources, use cloud storage effectively, and enhance digital communication.
W3Schools has been an invaluable external reference throughout the course. It offers fantastic tutorials and resources for HTML, CSS, and other web technologies in an easy-to-read format. It reinforced concepts learned in the course and helped me explore new ideas.
As I continue to develop my web development skills, I intend to use W3Schools as a key reference. If you’re looking for a resource to learn or revisit web technologies, here’s the link: W3Schools.
This course has equipped me with essential web development skills and a deeper understanding of internet tools. I look forward to building on these fundamentals and using them to create practical, professional projects in the future.
